“Souls Extolled are looking to become heroes to a generation where genres make little difference... This is classic rock, interjected with punk, and grunge, all distinct, yet all working to create the unique vision of Souls Extolled.” - Eduard Banulescu
Souls Extolled is an Austin-based psychedelic rock trio-- think Ozzy having a lovechild with Rancid, on acid! Their music has been featured on hundreds of radio stations nationwide and has been written up in Broadway World, Indie-Music.com, and KUTX 98.9 to name a few. With their tribe of rockers 'The Restless Kind' growing faster than ever, Souls Extolled is primed and ready to kick ass for the The Restless People in 2023!

'JUST Dreams' KUTX 98.9 Song of the day by jack anderson "There really are some sensational prog metal (or at least hard rock-adjacent) songwriters sprinkled across Austin. Exhibit A: Souls Extolled."
'DOWN TO GO' COVERAGE from R más (MEXICO) "This single is an exploration of styles like stoner rock and psychedelic rock ... exploring different musical ideas ranging from accelerated guitar breaks to psychedelic choruses and choppy parts, reminiscent of Coheed and Cambria, or CKY."
'Self-Mutilation' REVIEW BY ANDRE ALONSO OF MEtal junkbox "it's more than necessary to point out the work they do, Which sounds very well done, with influences ranging from progressive rock to alternative rock and Ska! Exactly that, the band has the DNA of daring, mixed with the genius of knowing how to use all the elements well, combining creativity and musicality!"
'MMXXII' ALBUM REVIEW BY KEITH CLEMENT OF METAL HEADS FOREVER MAGAZINE "The band has done an awesome job yet again by creating something awesome, and likeable and overall enjoyable... It’s hard to express the sound in words, it has to be experienced.”
'mmxxii' album review from the pheonix remix “If I plainly told you that Souls Extolled are putting as many genres as possible in to one record, you wouldn’t anticipate MMXXII to be the masterpiece it is... Listen for the guitar solos, stay for the journey the lyrics and vocals take you on.”
'MMXXII' Album Review by nathalie phan of on vinyl media ""The best way to describe the album is to think of it in a theatrical sense. It is a Shakespearean album filled with high drama, gore, politics, love..."
'MMXXII' Album Review by Akram Soliman of Rock Era Magazine "If I plainly told you that Souls Extolled are putting as many genres as possible in to one record, you wouldn’t anticipate MMXXII to be the masterpiece it is. But let me tell you, these guys have honed their songwriting abilities, mastered their instruments and blurred the lines between all the loveable eras/movements of the Rock world."
'Self-mutilation single coverage from indie-music.com Fusing generations of influences from indie and alternative rock to grunge and ska punk, their diverse blend is provocative yet familiar... With their latest record MMXXII coming out of the prestigious 512 Studios, their discography magnificently captures the dynamic nature of the explosive young band.
'SELF-MUTILATION' Single COVERAGE AND ALBUM release ANNOUNCEMENT by A.A. Cristi of broadway world music "Their newest album, MMXXII (2022) embodies their story through the different modes of rock music that have inspired them, and the spiritual and socio-political concepts that define the experiences of their generation. The name of the album MMXXII is this year 2022 in roman numerals and named such to reflect the intention to release a new song every month in 2022."
'JUST DREAMS' single COVERAGE BY MICHALE MAJOR OF BROADWAY WORLD MUSIC "Their newest single "Just Dreams," is out now and they're excited to announce their third full length album named MMXXII (2022) due out December 31. "Just Dreams'' is available everywhere you stream music."
'Ride of my life' feature in melodic magazine's weekly roundup (02/21/2022) "The opening guitar of this one immediately brings to mind Kings of Leon, but soon after Souls Extolled morphs the song into its own unique character, which is especially accentuated by the dreamlike, yet emotional, vocals."
Zach Black interview with metal digest magazine "I think for all of us in one sense or another, it was moving to Austin and seeing so many other great musicians doing the thing. They really paved the way for us."
'Sweet Glow' feature on roadie metal (brazil) "Merging elements of Grunge and Alternative Rock from the 1990s, the song delivers great melodies and is now available for listening on the main music streaming platforms."
'sweet glow' review from direct actu (france) "Sometimes we let ourselves be seduced by a title, because its melody and its mood remind us of a film, a feeling of the past. That's kind of how Sweet Glow drew us to Souls Extolled."
'Sweet glow' review from alt77 alternative music blog "Souls Extolled are looking to become heroes to a generation where genres make little difference... This is classic rock, interjected with punk, and grunge, all distinct, yet all working to create the unique vision of Souls Extolled."
'The CRUCIBLE' REVIEW from ROCK ERA MAGAZINE "It's so tight that you cannot even think it's a single track by a modern act!"
Review and Interview with GigRadar (UK) "a blast of groovy hard rock that unashamedly draws on the greats of rock, grunge, ska and rap-rock..."
"Garden of Eden" review from Vinyl Chapters Music Blog "Featuring a hard rock but groovy sound, Souls Extolled is a band enjoying their music... A unique and interesting blend of genres."
"allegiant swine" press release from buffablog "This unique three-piece packs a wallop into their power-trio package, bringing to mind bands like Jane’s Addiction or Faith No More with tinges of ska punk and classic rock."
"Follow the Ghosts" Album Review from On Vinyl Media "Overall, the project, from top to bottom, is a made of fantastic and angry but sensational compositions. Weaved in are interesting and well thought out lyrics."
ROCK ERA MAG INTERVIEW WITH ZACH BLACK "the general idea was to draw a parallel between the concept of a crucible, a place where different elements combine to create something new, and the way that we interact with each other through music, partying, and drugs. Like essentially rock n' roll is our crucible."
Zach Black interview with 'pete's rock news and views' "‘Extolled’ means to praise and worship enthusiastically. When we rock out we’re worshipping ourselves, or more specifically our own free will. This is our solution to the problem –"
Souls Extolled Interview in Rockstar Magazine "We’re super thankful to have so many great opportunities to play, and we’re going to make sure we bring the fuckin’ house down for every one!"
"Garden of Eden" review from ParaPop - Indonesia (music blog) "Musically it feels like blending fun Pink Floyd songs like 'Another Brick in the Wall Pt. 2' and Sublime's ska side like 'Same in the End'. Jim Morrison-esc vocal pitch during the verse, but shifts to something more Kurt Cobain-like in the chorus. This is a truly quirky and fun song, and an ode to the gritty and pervasive rock of the previous decade."
